Aurora :
The coolest take ever on affordable luxury was derived from science—the average skin temperature is 91 degrees, but the ideal sleep temperature is 88 degrees. To maintain the optimal sleep temperature of 88 degrees, they infused a phase change molecule called TitanCool™ on the surface of the Brooklyn Aurora to moderate your temperature: cooling gel beads liquefy at higher temperatures to deliver cooling relief; those same beads solidify at lower temperatures to ensure an ideal sleep environment. A premium smooth top weave allows the proper amount of cooling to be delivered to you on contact. The result is the most elite sleep experience yet.
The overall construction depends on the product you have selected but most come with:

Premium Quilted Top
At the top of this mattress is a high value quilted layer that can withstand body imprints as well as provide a cool ambience for the most comfortable sleep ever.
TitanFlex Layer
This 2″ layer of foam is exclusive to the Brooklyn brand. It’s a layer of hyper-elastic TitanFlex foam that features a technology which allows it to adapt to your body movement on the mattress. As if that’s not enough, it is also coated with Titanium gel to increase it’s cooling effect.
EnergexTM Layer
At the third layer is a 2″ transition foam made of high-density EnergexTM. This layer ensure your body frame is contoured and pressure is limited.
AscensionTM Coils Support Layer
This layer is a 6″ foam with 961 individually wrapped AscensionTM Coils to limit the effect of random motion on the mattress and give you an uninterrupted sleeping experience.
High-Density Base Support Foam
At the foot of the layers is an inch of High-Density foam providing base support. It also promotes the bouncy effect of the coils above it as they compress.

Luxury Smooth Weave Top
Gracing the top of this mattress is a deluxe cover weaved finely and comes with the TitanCool technology for coolness on contact.
CopperFlex and TitanCool Layer
On the first layer after the covering is a 1.5″ foam which is an innovation of the Brooklyn brand. This layer blends the CopperFlex patented technology and that of TitanCool for effective contour provision along designated pressure relief points.
With copper in the mix, this layer is immune to bacterials. The TitanCool technology sips heat away and maintains a cool temperature for the body.
TitanFlex Layer
On the second layer, the TitanFlex technology is deployed. This proprietary technology makes this 2″ layer super elastic and ensures the mattress adapt to body movement on it.
Visco-Elastic Memory Foam
This 1″ transition layer is a Visco-Elastic Memory Foam that improves body contouring, adds to a cooling effect and gives compression support.
AcensionTM Coils Layer

Five-star Performance Cover

CopperFlex and TitanCool Layer
The first layer is an inch foam bearing both the CopperFlex and TitanCool technology. 2″ of transition foam serves as the ideal support to the core of the mattress. It’s the middle man in the layers and it’s quite sturdy which is great for it’s role.

Top Cover
N/B: All mattresses from Amerisleep comes with the same cover and for the rest of this review, it will be needless dwelling on covers since there’s no difference. The cover for AS1 is same as that of AS2 to AS5, and the hybrid options equally.
The highlight of this cover on all mattresses from Amerisleep is the inclusion of Celliant which is blended with spandex and polyester.
The Celliant in the mix makes the cover cool to the touch and is also reputed to harbour therapeutic benefits for the muscle.
Comfort Layer
Surely made for comfort, this comfort layer is made up of a 2 inch Bio-pur® memory foam. This foam contours the body perfectly and allows you to sink in a little to relieve pressure points.
It’s also quite responsive since it’s just 2 inches, so you don’t get trapped while trying to get up. This layer also uses an open cell technology that makes it breathable to make the sleeper enjoy a cool sleep.
Base Layer
The core of this mattress is an 8 inch high-density polyfoam that offers all the support, resilience and durability for the few inched layers above it.
This layer is also responsible for the firmness of this mattress. On the basis of it’s sheer strenght, it was tagged the firmest mattress on the Amerisleep line.
AS2
The AS2 is also a firm mattress, but sits in the medium-firm range, making it ideal for stomach and back sleepers. Its construction is in three layers.

Cover – All covers are the same.
Top Layer
The first and top layer just beneath the cover is a 2 inch Bio-pur® memory foam that provides adequate contouring and pressure relief. It also keeps the body cool with an open cell technology. This top layer is very soft.
Middle Transition Layer
The second layer or middle layer consist of a 3 inch polyfoam. This layer is very firm and also known as the affinity layer.
Base Layer
Serving as base for the layers of this mattress is 7 inches of high-density polyfoam which is very firm and provides structural support for the mattress. There is also a zoned support system in place here which is a patented one to relieve pressure off pressure points, enhance alignment and reduce back pain.
AS3
AS3 is the most popular mattress on the Amerisleep mattress series. It sits at the middle in the firmness scale – not too soft and not too firm. So this mattress is recommended for side sleepers and those who change positions often. Its construction is in three layers.

Top Comfort Layer
3 inches of a Bio-pur® memory foam sits at the top layer for maximum coolness, softness and pressure relief.
Middle Transition Layer
2 inches of 1.65lb density polyfoam serves as the second and transition layer. This layer transit the sleeper from the soft top layer to the medium firm base.
Base Support Layer
Serving as base and support for the entire mattress is 7 inches of high-density polyfoam which is average on firmness. It’s soft but provide the needed firmness for support.
AS4
The AS4 is on the soft side, specifically on the medium-soft range of the firmness scale making it ideal for side sleepers. It’s the second softest foam on the line. It’s construction is in 3 layers and it’s 12 inches in height.

The top layer consists of 4 inches of Bio-pur memory foam. This layer is typically soft, breathable and pressure-relieving.
Middle Transition Layer
An inch of breathable transition foam sits at the middle position to transit the sleeper from the soft surface to the firm support base layer using a surface modification technology. This layer also come with support zones to relief pressure from pressure points like the back, shoulders, neck and hips.
Base Support Layer
At the base is 7 inches of high-density Bio-core foam providing support to the entire mattress and enforcing durability.
AS5
AS5 is the softest mattress on the series and often known as the plush mattress. It’s the most sophisticated mattress on the Amerisleep series with four uniquely built layers and the signature Celliant cover. It’s also the highest in height at 14 inches.

The top layer of this mattress is 3 inches of Bio-pur® memory foam providing pressure relief in contouring and coolness in breathability.
Compression Layer
2 inches of foam known as the Active Flex layer sits just beneath the comfort layer. This layer is very soft but also come with the firmness of a memory foam. This layer is exclusive to the AS5 and also contributes to pressure relief by allowing you sink in not too deep to be trapped.
Transition Layer
This layer is 2 inches of foam that is well-spaced for a hitch-free air passage and subsequent cooling. It also serves as the bridge between the soft top layer and the firm support base layer. It is also zoned to guarantee pressure relief on pressure points.
Base Support Layer
At the foot of the layers is 7 inches of high-density polyfoam providing stability and durability to the layers above it.
The Hybrids (AS2, AS3 & AS5)
The construction of the hybrids for all three are basically same save for a few additions which include:

All mattresses come with a 120 risk-free night of trial. If you are not satisfied after these nights of trial, you can return your mattress and have a full refund.
10 years warranty applies to all mattresses. You can get a new mattress within the 10-year period, if your mattress declines structurally or you notice a major defect. However, terms and conditions on these policy exist and should be followed.

After purchase, you are given 100 nights risk-free trial and if you are still not comfortable with the mattress after that time window, you can return it and get a full refund.
All mattresses come with a limited 20-year warranty. For the first 10 years, Amerisleep will replace your mattress for any defect and that includes sagging above 0.75″. After the first 10 years, you will be receiving prorated replacements.

All six mattresses from Brooklyn are offered in three level of firmness. Soft, medium and firm with the exception of the Brooklyn Browery Hybrid and Brooklyn Browery which are only at the universally accepted medium firm position.
Either ways, all six mattresses have the medium firm option which is great for any sleeper whether back, stomach or side.
With options to choose among the firmness, you can get the bespoke mattress for your sleeping position by choosing;

The highlight of Amerisleep comes in the distinction among sleeping types. Each mattress was designed to suit a particular sleeping type.
AS1
The AS1 was designed for back sleepers and to some extent, stomach sleepers. It’s the firmest mattress in the series.
AS2
AS2 was designed for stomach sleepers and partly for back sleepers. It’s on the medium-firm level.
AS3
AS3 is for side sleepers but since it sits at the middle in the firmness scale it can be used by all sleepers regardless of their sleeping positions.
AS4
AS4 is the second softest mattress and great for side sleepers. It’s on the medium-soft range.
AS5
AS5 is the softest mattress in the Amerisleep series. It’s on the soft side and great for side sleepers.

Conclusion
Amerisleep is one company that will continue to lead if mattresses were just all about firmness levels. Amerisleep has 5 different mattresses and all come in 5 different firmness levels to suit a variety of sleeping positions.
On comfort and support, Amerisleep does pretty good with a celliant cover and a Biopur® memory foam. Both of which are excellent in assuring sleepers of a cool and comforting sleeping experience.
But these qualities didn’t match up to the kind offered by Brooklyn in its 6 different mattresses.
Brooklyn features a TitanFlex Layer, TitanCool and CopperFlex layer, Visco-elastic layer, Talalay Latex layer and a premium quilted cover in all of its mattresses for redefined comfort.
Each of these layers and the technologies they come with are proactive in keeping Brooklyn’s mattresses cool, soft, supportive and super comfortable.
